Panland is proud to lend its mark of excellence and full product sponsorship to what has become one of the premier native steelbands in Japan - the Panland Steel Orchestra.

Established in April 2002 by 30 members who were enchanted by the sound of the steelpan, the band has flourished under the direct management of Nonaka Boeki Company, Ltd., and now boasts of members from many different areas of Japan and representative of all generations (adults, young adults, mothers, and students).

In 2006, the band was asked to be a pep band to represent Trinidad and Tobago in a multiculturally themed pep rally at the Kirin Challenge Cup 2006, entitled “Japan vs. Trinidad and Tobago,” where they independently created a dynamic and memorable cheer presentation with the interaction of Trinidadians residing in Japan.

PSO’s success and popularity continues to grow intensely out of Japan and the rest of Asia, due in large part to multiple championships at the Yokahama Steelband Festival, which has emerged as the largest and fastest growing annual steelband festival competition in Japan, and by extent, Asia Pacific. This can be credited to the passion of the bands’ players, and the stellar management and arrangement of Kiyoshi Kawashima (Nonaka Boeki Limited) and Yuki Murakami respectively.
